Patient Data

ultrasound

A well-defined hypoechoic cystic area in the right popliteal fossa extending into the upper calf lying superficial to the medial head of the gastrocnemius. It contains septa and organized echogenic material suggestive of an old hemorrhage with a retracted clot. A calcified loose body is seen within one of the loculi. The lesion does not show vascularity within.

Findings are suggestive of a right-sided Baker's cyst with a hemorrhage.

Mild joint effusion with minimal synovitis also evident.
