Hemorrhagic ovarian cyst

The left ovary presents a cystic mass with hyperechoic lace-like content. Approximate size 51x39 mm. There is no vascular signal on the Doppler scan. No calcifications or papillary projections inside the cyst.
Normal right ovary.
Normal-sized uterus.
Case Discussion
Typical ultrasound findings of hemorrhagic ovarian cysts:
- lace-like reticular echoes
- thin wall
- no vascularity inside the cyst on Doppler scan
- posterior acoustic enhancement
Some hemorrhagic ovarian cysts can be symptomatic; this patient had no abdominal complaints.
