Presentation

Right-sided large painless swelling in neck; moves with deglutition.

Patient Data

Age: 30-40 years
Gender: Female
ct

A large, well defined, mostly homogenous cystic lesion in the right lobe of thyroid with predominantly fluid attenuation contents.

Case Discussion

Hemorrhagic thyroid cyst.

FNA: The specimen consists of blood and hemosiderin-laden macrophages. Rare small clusters of benign-appearing follicular epithelial cells are present but are of insufficient quantity for adequate evaluation. No malignant cells are present.
