Neck pain. Trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 80 years
Gender: Female
ct

Mildly displaced, coronally oriented C2 fracture extends through the vertebral body to the pars, with extension also into bilateral transverse foramina.

Minimally displaced fracture through C6 anterior tubercle of left transverse process.

No further cervical fracture noted.

Case Discussion

Hangman's fracture is a fracture which involves the pars interarticularis of C2 bilaterally and is a result of combined hyperextension and distraction forces.
