Case Discussion
Foreign bodies are uncommon and most ingested pass through the gastrointestinal tract without problems. In some cases, ingested foreign bodies can cause bowel obstruction or perforation. Most patients that ingest objects are children, as in the case, emotionally disturbed persons, and others.
In this case, the child was submitted to upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and the foreign body was withdrawn without complications.
