Cough.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

Heart size normal.  Lungs clear.

Sharply angulated anterior ribs and horizontal posterior ribs giving a heart-shaped appearance.

Case Discussion

The steeply vertical anterior ribs and horizontal posterior ribs give a heart-shaped appearance typical of pectus excavatum.
