Hepatic abscess and hepatic vein thrombosis

Septic patient. History of recent cholecystectomy

Patient Data

Age: 62
Gender: Male

CT abdomen and pelvis

CT shows a larga multiloculated hypodense lesions with peripheral enhancement. The left hepatic vein is not filled with intravenous contrast confirming the presence of a thrombus extending into the inferior vena cava.  It is also observed pneumobilia and free fluid in the abdominal cavity.

Large left lobe hepatic abscess.
