Presentation
Rapid onset of exquisite right upper quadrant pain.
Patient Data
Lobulated right hepatic lobe lesion, predominately in segments 7 and 8. The lesion has areas that are mildly hyperintense to liver on precontrast T1-weighted imaging compatible with hemorrhage.
No gross lipid content within the lesion. There is mild diffuse hepatic steatosis.
No morphologic findings of cirrhosis. No hemoperitoneum.
Pre & postcontrast dynamic sequences
Lobular arterially enhancing mass in the right hepatic lobe, predominantly involving segments 8 and 7. It fades to background signal intensity on delayed sequences. No washout or pseudocapsule formation
Case Discussion
The patient underwent a right hepatectomy: the diagnosis was hepatic adenoma, compatible with the MRI imaging appearance.
