Presentation
Elevated liver enzymes in a young woman with long standing steroid therapy for systemic lupus erythematosus.
Patient Data
The hepatic attenuation value is less than that of the spleen, suggesting fatty liver.
Multiple (at least ten) well defined hyperattenuating lesions are seen in the liver less than 40 mm. The masses show homogenous enhancement on post contrast images.
A 35 mm thin walled non-enhanced cyst is present in the left ovary.
Case Discussion
Ultrasound guided core needle biopsy was performed for the hepatic masses, and histopathology findings confirmed a hepatic adenoma.
Hepatic adenomatosis is a rare disorder that refers to the presence of multiple, over ten and up to 50, hepatic adenomas.
