Presentation
Abdominal pain.
Patient Data
Normal size of the liver with diffuse low attenuation of its parenchyma. Two well defined hypodense hepatic focal lesions are seen in subsegments II and V measuring 1.9 X 1.5 and 2.7 X 2.2 cm respectively. They show early peripheral nodular enhancement in the arterial phase with progressive centripetal filling-in in the portal-venous and delayed phases. Two similar suncentimetric lesions are seen in subsegment VII. Complementary ultrasound showed these lesions to be hyperechoic with weak posterior acoustic enhancement.
The lesion is hyperechoic on US.
Case Discussion
Diffuse fatty infiltration of the liver and multiple hepatic focal lesions with morphologic criteria diagnostic of hepatic hemangiomata.
