Presentation
Left leg fracture following a road traffic accident. Sonography (FAST) scan was performed for detection of abdominal free fluid and the presence of an echogenic hepatic mass (not shown here) warranted further evaluation with CT scan.

Hepatic hydatid cyst

CT scan shows a round well defined cystic mass in the liver parenchyma in segment VIII which has septations and mural calcification. There is no evidence of infection within the cyst.
There is also a simple renal cyst.
Case Discussion
The image appearance is highly suggestive of hydatid cyst (serologically proven).
