A 103× 77× 82 mm thick-walled partially exophytic cystic lesion with internal layer detachment is noted in the right liver lobe. No calcification or enhancing solid components are noted within. There are no signs of intraperitoneal rupture.
Case Discussion
Imaging findings, including a large hepatic cyst with a thick wall and internal layer detachment, suggest hydatid infection that is serologically confirmed in this patient. The liver is the most common organ (76% of cases) that is involved in hydatid infection.
