A large well-defined thick-walled cystic lesion at the right lobe of the liver with Inner layer detachment, without calcification or enhancing solid component.
Case Discussion
The findings are consistent with hepatic hydatid cyst.
When the hydatid cyst is less than 3 cm, the imaging findings are nonspecific, resembling those of simple hepatic cysts. With larger lesions, the CT findings are :
- a hypodense band owing to the presence of a pericyst
- wall calcification
- daughter cysts within the main focus
- inner layer detachment
