- the liver shows two well defined calcified cysts with typical water-lily sign
- right ileocecal inflammatory lesion with smudging of adjacent fat planes
- mild abdominal ascites and small bilateral pleural effusion as well as right basal atelectasis
- a solitary gall stone and small simple left renal cysts are incidentally noted
- bilateral breast implants are shown
Case Discussion
Ultrasonograph of the patient showed incidental findings of two hepatic focal lesions with calcification and heavy post acoustic shadowing. Calcification of hepatic cysts raises the possibility of hydatid disease.
Other features depend on the separation of an endocyst floating within the cyst fluid (water-lily sign).
