Presentation

Right upper quadrant pain in a child of rural origin.

Age: 10 years
Gender: Female

Two large well-defined unilocular cysts of the right lobe of the liver with homogeneous fluid content.

Two large well-defined unilocular thick walled hepatic cysts centered on segments 8 and 6 of homogeneous fluid content with no wall calcification, septation or daughter cysts.

Normal appearance of the gallbladder and biliary radicles.

Case Discussion

CT features most consistent with hepatic hydatid cysts.

The serological tests for hydatid disease were positive in this case.
