Hepatic lacerations with adrenal injury

Presentation

Road traffic accident.

Patient Data

Age: 10 years
Gender: Male

There are multiple deep linear hepatic lacerations with capsular involvement centered on the segments 8, 7, 6, and 5 with moderate haemperitoneum around the liver and in the pelvic region. Periportal edema with no evidence of vascular injury or active bleeding.

Small hematoma of the body of the right adrenal gland with laceration of the lateral limb and mild retrohaemoperitoneum around the kidney. No renal or collecting system injury is seen.
