Hepatisation of the gallbladder

Case contributed by Dr Prat-Matifoll

The patient presents with abdominal pain without fever, vomiting or other symptoms.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

These sonograms show internal echoes inside the gallbladder mimicking the liver parenchyma with a normal wall and absence of colour flow in it.

Case Discussion

The thin irregular area surrounding the gallbladder wall in the fundus (last sonogram) could be related to other focal fatty sparing areas.
