Case contributed by Dr Prashant Mudgal

Elderly patient presented with pain in abdomen and breathlessness. On sonography multiple suspicious nodules seen in the liver.

Patient Data

Age: 72 years
Gender: Male

There are multiple, well-defined, lobulated, lesions noted randomly distributed in the hepatic parenchyma of both the lobes; largest lesion measures 5.9x5.0 cm located in the segment VIII of the right lobe. The lesions are isodense to hypodense to the liver parenchyma on plain scan and show intense enhancement in the arterial phase with early gradual washout during portal venous and equilibrium phase; imaging features are suggestive of multifocal hepatocellular carcinoma

Hepatic veins and the portal vein appear normal. IHBR are normal
