Chronic liver disease patient on routine screening

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Male
ct
  • morphological features of cirrhosis in the form of widened interlobular fissure, nodular margins, left lobe hypertrophy 
  • arterially enhancing focal lesion in segment VI which washes out in portal and delayed phases consistent with hepatoma
  • multiple gall stones
  • moderate ascites
  • right moderate pleural effusion with sympathetic atelectasis

Case Discussion

Arterially enhancing focal liver lesion in the background of cirrhosis which washes out early in portal phase, very conspicuous in the delayed phase consistent with a hepatoma
