Herbert classification is used to classify scaphoid fractures:
type A1: acute stable fracture of the tubercle
type A2: acute stable undisplaced waist fracture
type B1: acute unstable oblique fracture of the distal third
type B2: acute unstable displaced or unstable fracture of the waist
type B3: acute unstable proximal pole fracture
type B4: acute unstable fracture-dislocation of the carpus
type B5: acute unstable comminuted fracture
type C: delayed union
type D1: fibrous non-union
type D2: sclerotic non-union (pseudoarthrosis)
