Broadening of the mediastinum with an air-fluid level projecting over the left side of the cardiac shadow and absent abdominal gastric air bubble.
Bilateral scattered pulmonary opacities on both lungs.

Hiatus hernias occur when there is herniation of the stomach through the esophageal hiatus of the diaphragm into the thoracic cavity.
Differential diagnosis includes retrocardiac abscess, empyema and an epiphrenic diverticulum.
