Chest radiographs

Mediastinal enlargement due to a hiatus hernia with gastrointestinal protrusion into the mediastinum. 

Case Discussion

Hiatus hernias occur when there is herniation abdominal contents through the esophageal hiatus of the diaphragm into the thoracic cavity.
