There is a large stage IV hiatus hernia containing stomach, small and large bowel loops, the tail of the pancreas and intra-abdominal fat
Case Discussion
As a pulmonary embolism was the primary differential in this patient, a CTPA was performed. There was complete opacification of the pulmonary vessels with no filling defect and a pulmonary embolism was ruled out. Incidental thoracic crush fractures were also noted.
Her symptoms were attributed to her large hiatus hernia.
