Presentation

Middle-aged patient with a slowly enlarging mass on her little finger.

Patient Data

Age: 55
Gender: Female
mri

Large multi-loculated cystic mass on the ventral aspect of the little finger, a small element of which extends deep to the flexor tendon.

Small enhancing nodule in one of the cystic locules.

pathology

Histopathology identified a hidradenoma.

Case Discussion

This large tendon based mass was clinically suspected to represent a giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath.

MRI characteristics of the lesion were atypical for this diagnosis.

Histopathology following surgical removal indicated it represented a hiradenoma - a skin based pathology.
