The symptomatic triceps tendon is retracted about 18 mm and curled up. Equivocal preservation of some deeper fibers. The triceps muscle belly is not retracted and has preserved echogenicity (not shown). Note the normal echostructure and anatomy of the asymptomatic right side.
Thin anechoic fluid along the tendon indicates resultant hematoma.
Altogether findings are in line with a high-grade triceps tendon tear and avulsion.
The triceps tendon was surgically repaired and reattached using an anchoring screw.

Follow-up post surgical anchoring of the triceps tendon.
Case Discussion
High-grade triceps tendon injuries are ideally managed operatively.
