Hip avascular necrosis - bilateral

Presentation

Chronic pain in both hips, aggravated by walking.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male

Bilateral abnormal marrow signal intensities in the femoral heads are characteristic of avascular necrosis (AVN), a hypointense line adjacent to a hyperintense line with surrounding marrow oedematous changes.

Case Discussion

Imaging findings show osteonecrosis/avascular necrosis of both femoral heads.
