Presentation

Knee swelling and pain for 2 years.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
mri

Lobulated T1 hypointense , T2 hyperintense intra-articular cystic lesion with thin separations noted in Hoffa's fat pad laterally, suggestive of Hoffa's fat pad ganglion cyst.

Case Discussion

Ganglion cysts are coalescence of smaller cysts formed by myxomatous degeneration of periarticular connective tissue.

Locations are joint capsule, tendon sheath, ligament, bursa, intra articular, subchondral intraosseous and periosteal.
