Age: 40 years
Gender: Male
x-ray
  • Old laterally displaced fracture of the 2nd through 4th metatarsal bases
  • malalignment of the second through fourth tarsometatarsal joints
  • diastasis >2 mm between the first and second metatarsal bases became more evident on AP view

Case Discussion

  • this is an example of homolateral Lisfranc injury
    • MR is helpful for evaluating ligamentous integrity of lisfranc ligament
  • complications of untreated fracture include
    • non-union and
    • post-traumatic arthritis

MR was suggested to the patient but he denied.
