CT demonstrates the kidneys to be fused at their lower pole, located abnormally inferiorly immediately below the inferior mesenteric artery. The renal hila are rotated anateriology. Features characteristic of a horseshoe kidney.
Case Discussion
This CT was obtained as screening in a female patient with breast cancer. Abdominal CT illustrates a horseshoe kidney, which is a relatively common incidental finding.
