Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Unknown

Plain CT demonstrates the clot after decompression, with residual intraventricular hemorrhage but no hydrocephalus. Midline shift has substantially improved.

There is low attenuation within the clot: this is Floseal (Baxter), a hemostatic matrix of thrombin coated gelatine beads. Note the Hounsfield density measures -233, intermediate between fat (circa -100) and air (-1000).
