HSV encephalitis

Patient Data

Age: Adult

Prominent swelling, increase T2 signal involving the left temporal lobe and insular cortex. The right mesial temporal lobe appears normal. No evidence of haemorrhage. 

Case Discussion

This patient went on to have HSV encephalitis proven on CSF PCR.
