Humeral greater tuberosity avulsion fracture

Limited shoulder mobility with pain.

Patient Data

Age: Adult
Gender: Female

An avulsed cortical bone of the left greater tuberosity at the attachment of the supraspinatus tendon with underlying abnormal bone marrow signal low T1 and high T2 / STIR signals. The distal supraspinatus tendon demonstrates a small interstitial tear. Mild joint effusion.

Case Discussion

The case demonstrates humeral greater tuberosity avulsion fracture and partial supraspinatus tendon tear with subsequent joint effusion.
