Humeral head avascular necrosis in steroid therapy

Presentation

Left shoulder pain for about two months without trauma while on steroid therapy for rheumatoid arthritis

Patient Data

Age: 65
Gender: Female

In T1-weighted sequences there is oval osteolysis with thin outer bone sclerosis at the humeral greater tuberosity compatible with necrosis.

Modest associated joint effusion.
