Presentation

Abdominal discomfort and distention.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

Atrophy and compression of the left hepatic lobe due to large, complex cyst containing multiple round daughter cysts and faint peripheral calcification. 

Larger peritoneal and left pelvic collections with the same features. 

Case Discussion

Large burden of active abdominal hydatid disease which likely started in the left hepatic lobe, ruptured, and seeded the peritoneum.
