Following IV administration of 21 mCi technetium 99m pertechnetate, an angiographic (not shown) and blood pool study of the testes were performed.
Due to a large amount of fluid within the left testis, there is marked attenuation of the activity within the entire scrotum. Hence, blood flow and testicular viability cannot be assessed.
Case Discussion
A large hydrocele was present on an ultrasound performed earlier that day.
