Case contributed by Guilherme Pioli Resende
Diagnosis certain

Presentation

Patient undergoing urological follow-up due to prostatic hyperplasia and former ureteral obstruction.

Patient Data

Age: 75 years
Gender: Male

Radiopaque ovoid density projected in the path of the right ureter, measuring approximately 1.7 centimeters, which may correspond to ureterolithiasis.

Right kidney with lobulated contours and enlarged dimensions, presenting as massive hydronephrosis with dilation of the collecting systems.

Case Discussion

Hydronephrosis is a complication that usually results from obstruction of the ureteral flow, promoting dilation of the upstream collecting system. In this case, there was previous obstruction due to a stone impacted on the ureter. Examination performed to monitor the urological clinical picture.
