Acute right groin pain radiating to mid thigh

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female

Heterogeneous calcification at the origin of the reflected head of the rectus femoris tendon at the superior margin of the acetabulum.

Incidental calcification present at the same location, but half the diameter.

Case Discussion

Referred to rheumatologist. Diagnosis of HADD based on the presentation and imaging appearances.

After the shoulder, the hip region is the second commonest site of involvement.
