Hypertrophic pyloric stenosis

Presentation

Projectile non-bilious vomiting after feeding.

Patient Data

Age: 40 days
Gender: Male
Ultrasound

There are sonographic features of pyloric stenosis with single muscle thickness 5.5 mm and pyloric width 1.2 cm and pyloric canal length measuring 2.2 cm. Depicting antral nipple sign and cervix sign of the pylorus.

Case Discussion

40 days old baby boy is presenting to the clinic with projectile vomiting after feeding and growth failure when plotted on the specified chart. Ultrasound of the abdomen was requested to evaluate the pylorus which turned to be positive as shown above.
