Case Discussion

The risk of developing hypoglycemia among infants born to diabetic mothers is 8-30% of neonates born to mothers with diabetes mellitus. The predisposing risk factors for neonatal hypoglycemia in diabetic pregnancies are related to poor maternal glycemic control and neonatal weight at birth and the inability to maintain glucose homeostasis.
