Presentation

Third trimester scan for a dichorionic diamniotic twin pregnancy with growth discordance.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

Left-sided heart apex (situs solitus).

Right ventricular hypertrophy.

Right atrial enlargement.

Hypoplastic left ventricle and atrium.

Hypoplastic ascending aorta.

Normal tricuspid flow.

Short femur length.

Cerebroplacental ratio <1:1.

Case Discussion

Hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) results from severe underdevelopment of the left heart and is among cyanotic congenital heart diseases.

In this case, it presented with shortened fetal femur and abnormal cerebroplacental ratio
