Presentation
30 years old primigravida for 27-weeks scan. No complaints. 11-13 weeks scan was normal.
Patient Data
There was normal fetal situs.
The right ventricle is atretic on 4-chamber view.
Atresia of the pulmonary valve with an intact interventricular septum is seen.
Hypoplastic proximal pulmonary artery with retrograde blood flow seen on color Doppler from the ductus arteriosus is demonstrated.
Tricuspid atresia and no flow through the valve.
The rest of the fetal anatomical survey was normal.
Fetal maturity corresponded to LMP.
Case Discussion
Hypoplastic right heart syndrome is a congenital cardiac anomaly characterized by an underdeveloped right side of the heart, including the right ventricle, tricuspid valve, pulmonary valve, and pulmonary arteries.
