Presentation
Right toe deformities since birth.
Patient Data
The toes are significantly hypoplastic, rudimentary and rounded in appearance. Hypoplastic and dysplastic appearing ossification of the proximal phalanx in the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th toes. Absent ossification of the proximal phalanx of the 2nd toe. Tiny ossification of the middle phalanx of the 5th toe is noted. Mildly hypoplastic 2nd metatarsal. The tarsal bones appear intact. The plantar arches are diminutive.
Case Discussion
Imaging results of the remainder of the patient's lower extremities were unremarkable. No growth deformities were seen elsewhere in the body. The patient's constellation of findings are compatible with amniotic band syndrome.
