Noduar mass lesion in the right hypothalamic / tuber cinereum region, related to the right optic tract and bulging into the third ventricle measuring approx. Lesion appears isointense to gray matter on T1and T2-weighted images.
The remainder of the brain is unremarkable.
Case Discussion
Hypothalamic hamartomas, also knows as tuber cinereum hamartomas,are benign non-neoplastic heterotopias seen in the region of hypthalamus arising from tuber cinereum. Patient presented with gelastic seizures which are of short duration.
