Hypoxic brain injury

This patient had a drug overdose and a hypoxic arrest.


One week post cardiac arrest

The globus pallidi bilaterally are of low density. Note punctate hyperdensity on right is preexistent calcification. 

Also note that the white matter of the frontal lobes is of low density.


Prior CT for comparison

Normal grey-white differentiation is noted.
