Case Discussion

Iatrogenic alogenosis is a disease whose incidence and prevalence have increased in Colombia due to the large number of aesthetic procedures performed and the lack of sanitary regulation of the products and personnel in charge. It is a complex disease with consequences, not only aesthetic, but also economic, productive, psychological and social, and clinical manifestations ranging from local to systemic, sometimes accompanied by de novo rheumatologic diseases.

One of the greatest difficulties for its detection is the appearance of symptoms years after the application of the product, usually highly antigenic substances with a low degree of biocompatibility. A high degree of suspicion should be deployed in order to detect it early, correctly orient the treatment and educate patients about the consequences of using products that are not safe and using personnel with little training in this type of procedure.
