Giant saccular aneurysm arising from the intracavernous segment of the left internal carotid artery. It measures about 29 x 28 x 27 mm with a narrow neck (about 3 mm) with a mass effect on the cavernous sinus structures. No intraluminal thrombosis. No active bleeding.
Case Discussion
Giant cerebral aneurysms are defined as aneurysms that measure >25 mm in greatest dimension. They account for ~5% of all intracranial aneurysms, usually occur in the 5th-7th decades and are more common in females (as in his case).
