ICA dissection with follow-up

Repeated left sided weakness.

Patient Data

Age: Elderly


Axial image demonstrates poor opacification of the right internal carotid artery. Sagittal CTA demonstrates an almost complete occlusion at the apex of a loop of the ICA at the level of C1, consistent with a dissection. 


CTA 3 days later

Although the lumen has improved, a flap is now visible.
