Presentation
Diagnostic workup right breast. The patient's family physician felt a mass left breast laterally on clinical exam.
Patient Data
The two conventional mammogram views of the right breast show a spiculated lesion which obliterates the profile of the pectoral muscle on the MLO view. The lesion is visible laterally on the CC view.
A poorly defined solid mass lesion which is poorly circumscribed with angular margins.
Case Discussion
Confirmed invasive ductal carcinoma on ultrasound-guided core biopsy.
Another illustration of the importance of review of the pectoral profile on the MLO view of the breast.
The lesion was clearly visible with the patient lying down with puckering of the skin seen. The patient did not notice any change to her breast.
