Iliocaecal intussuception with ulcerative colitis

Presentation

A known case of pathologically proven ulcerative colitis affecting the descending and sigmoid colon presented with right iliac fossa pain . Her CBC revealed low hemoglobin

Patient Data

Age: 20 y
Gender: Female

Iliocecal intussuception, the intussuceptum showing diffuse mural edema.

Diffuse mucosal thickening of the descending colon and sigmoid with loss of haustration are noted.

Mild free pelvic fluid

Case Discussion

After diagnosis the patient was operated which showed an rmural hematoma and treated by reduction with resection anastomosis
