There is a relatively well-circumscribed heterogeneous predominantly fat attenuating mass arising from the right adnexa containing eccentric soft tissue and calcific components. The mass measures about 11x10cm and shows heterogenous enhancement on the post-contrast scan. The mass does not show any no evidence of infiltration into the adjacent structures.
A well-circumscribed homogenously enhancing lesion measuring about 2x2cm seen in the left ovary.

Uterus is enlarged, consistent with recent termination of pregnancy.

Photo

The dissected image of the right ovarian lesion showed mixed fatty and calcific components within. The specimens obtained from both the
ovaries were sent for histopathological examination.

Case Discussion

This case presents the typical CT appearance of the immature teratoma in a young woman arising from the right adnexa. The enhancing soft tissue lesion in the left ovary is suggestive of metastasis.
